Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using our services. By requesting a quote, scheduling a visit, or using our website, you agree to be bound by these terms.

📅 Effective Date: January 1, 2025
🕐 Last Updated: April 2025
📍 Jurisdiction: Commonwealth of Virginia
Section 01

Services

Shenandoah Lawn Co. LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") provides residential and commercial lawn care and landscaping services in Northern Virginia, including but not limited to lawn mowing and edging, fertilization and weed control, aeration and overseeding, leaf removal and seasonal cleanup, shrub trimming and pruning, mulching and bed maintenance, and seasonal care plans.

Services are provided to properties located within our active service area. We reserve the right to decline service to any property or customer at our discretion. We do not guarantee availability on any specific date and will make reasonable efforts to accommodate scheduling preferences.

All services are performed by trained, company-employed or contracted crew members. We reserve the right to subcontract work when necessary, provided all work meets our quality standards.

Section 02

Quotes & Pricing

Quotes provided by Shenandoah Lawn Co. are based on information you supply — including property address, lot size, and service requested — and are subject to adjustment upon our visual inspection of the property prior to or during the first service visit.

Flat-Rate Promise: Once a quote is confirmed in writing (via text, email, or our web form), that price is your price for the described scope of work. We will not add charges at invoice without your prior approval.

Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date issued. Prices may change after that period due to fuel costs, labor rates, or other market conditions. Recurring service rates may be reviewed and adjusted with 14 days' written notice to the customer.

Additional charges may apply for:

  • Properties with excessive overgrowth requiring extra time on the first visit
  • Debris removal beyond normal lawn waste (e.g., construction materials, large brush piles)
  • Gate or access issues that require re-scheduling
  • Scope additions requested at time of service
Section 03

Scheduling & Property Access

You are responsible for ensuring our crews have safe, unobstructed access to your property on scheduled service days. This includes unlocking gates, securing pets indoors or away from work areas, and removing vehicles or obstacles that would prevent service.

  • We will notify you via your preferred contact method at least 24 hours before a scheduled visit
  • If access is blocked on arrival, we may charge a trip fee of up to $25 and reschedule at the next available date
  • We are not responsible for damage to hidden underground objects (irrigation heads, cables, pet fencing) that are not disclosed prior to service
  • Service times are given as approximate windows, not guaranteed appointment slots

We reserve the right to reschedule visits due to severe weather, equipment failure, or safety concerns. We will notify you promptly and reschedule within 5 business days.

Section 04

Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans change. Here is our cancellation and pause policy:

  • Single visit cancellation: Cancel at least 24 hours before your scheduled visit at no charge. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice may incur a $25 late cancellation fee.
  • Recurring service cancellation: You may cancel recurring service at any time with 7 days' written notice. No long-term contracts are required.
  • Seasonal pauses: You may pause recurring service for up to 60 days per calendar year without penalty. Simply notify us in advance.
  • Prepaid services: If you have prepaid for a service package and cancel before completion, we will refund the unused portion within 10 business days, minus any applicable processing fees.

We reserve the right to terminate service with 7 days' notice for any reason, including but not limited to: non-payment, unsafe property conditions, or repeated access issues.

Section 05

Payment Terms

Payment is due upon completion of each service visit unless you are enrolled in a prepaid seasonal plan. We accept the following payment methods:

  • Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover)
  • ACH bank transfer
  • Check (payable to Shenandoah Lawn Co. LLC)
  • Cash

Invoices are delivered via text or email on the day of service. Payments not received within 14 days of invoice date are considered past due and may incur a 1.5% monthly late fee. Accounts more than 60 days past due may be referred to collections.

Returned checks are subject to a $35 returned check fee in addition to any bank charges.

Section 06

Satisfaction Guarantee

We stand behind every visit with our satisfaction guarantee. If you are not satisfied with the quality of a completed service, notify us within 48 hours of the visit and we will return to correct the issue at no additional charge.

Our guarantee covers the quality of work performed during that visit. It does not cover outcomes affected by weather, pre-existing lawn conditions, or circumstances outside our control.

The satisfaction guarantee applies to one re-service per original visit. If after the re-service you remain unsatisfied, we will discuss a partial or full refund on a case-by-case basis. Refunds are not guaranteed but will always be considered in good faith.

Section 07

Section 08

Property & Liability

Shenandoah Lawn Co. is fully licensed and insured. We carry general liability insurance on every visit, and our crews are covered under workers' compensation.

While we take every precaution to protect your property, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • We are not liable for damage to unmarked underground utilities, irrigation lines, invisible pet fencing, or other subsurface installations not disclosed to us in advance
  • We are not responsible for pre-existing lawn conditions, disease, or pest damage that may become more visible after mowing or treatment
  • Normal wear and incidental contact with lawn equipment (minor nicks to edging materials, mulch displacement, etc.) is expected and not grounds for a damage claim
  • Claims for property damage must be submitted in writing within 5 days of the service visit in question

For any verified damage caused directly by our crew's negligence, we will work promptly and in good faith to repair or reimburse the damage. Our total liability shall not exceed the value of the service performed on the visit in question, except where required by applicable law.

Section 09
